Downey & Downey, P.A. was incorporated in 1992 when Daniel Downey and his son, Edward Downey, joined to create the firm. Downey & Downey, P.A. is a successor of the long time Palm Beach County firm, initially known as Paty & Downey, which was founded in the late 1940's and included former Circuit Court and Appellate Court Judge James C. Downey (now deceased). Daniel Downey joined his brother James C. Downey at Paty & Downey in the mid-1950's where he practiced until 1992 when Daniel and his son, Edward (formerly a partner at Gunster Yoakley & Stewart in West Palm Beach), joined to create Downey & Downey, P.A.
Lee McElroy joined the firm in 2005 and Christine Bialczak and Jamison Evert joined the firm in 2011.
